Executive, Transshipment (Network Optimization)

Overview

Ocean Network Express in Singapore is looking for an Executive specialized in Transshipment focusing on enhancing network optimization in the transportation and logistics sector. This role is based on-site and aims to improve transshipment cost efficiency by advancing cargo scheduling and aiding space controllers to avoid overbooking while streamlining operational processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze vessel schedules, connection windows, and space availability to identify opportunities for advancing transshipment of dangerous goods and reefer shipments to earlier sailings.
• Collaborate closely with transshipment team members to implement connection advancements.
• Prepare weekly reports for space controllers highlighting potential overbooking 2-3 weeks ahead to facilitate booking controls.
• Update Port of Singapore Authority (PSA) with transshipment plans to support yard planning and verify related invoices.
• Participate in bi-monthly meetings with PSA to discuss Portnet-related issues.
• Manage cargo clearance permits by verifying documents, coordinating with internal departments and authorities, and ensuring timely permit submissions.
• Seek opportunities to automate manual tasks and increase operational efficiency through technology-based solutions.
• Support system upgrades, conduct user acceptance testing, and assist in deploying new systems, tools, and improved processes.
• Work alongside IT, Operations, and stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve system problems.
• Create, update, and enhance process documentation and work instructions to maintain compliance and consistency in operations.
• Provide support for ad-hoc projects and assignments as needed.

Requirements

• Diploma holder with relevant container shipping experience, or a recent university graduate.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite with strong skills in Excel and familiarity with Google Workspace.
• Knowledge of Portnet is advantageous.
• Interest or basic knowledge of data analysis tools such as Power BI, Excel VBA, or SQL is a plus, but not mandatory.
