Role Overview
The Facility Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety, operational efficiency, and sanitation of all gym equipment and premises. This position enhances the member experience by leading maintenance tasks, repairs, inspections, and overseeing cleaning efforts. An effective candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with strong technical know-how, organizational abilities, and a passion for fitness and facility care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support on-site Equipment Technicians ensuring their effectiveness and responsibility.
- Carry out and supervise scheduled preventative maintenance on all gym equipment, including massage chairs and hydro beds.
- Troubleshoot and fix various fitness equipment malfunctions.
- Manage and resolve service tickets via the Open Wrench system.
- Keep an up-to-date inventory of spare parts and repair tools for timely fixes.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and complete checklists when visiting the club.
- Oversee third-party vendors to ensure high-quality and prompt service delivery.
- Recruit, train, and mentor local Custodians.
- Work with Regional Operations to ensure staff training on ticketing processes and equipment standards.
- Identify and implement innovative solutions to reduce equipment downtime.
- Manage and uphold cleanliness standards throughout the facility to meet hygiene and appearance expectations.
- Coordinate and supervise cleaning teams or contractors to ensure thorough and efficient cleaning practices.
- Conduct regular cleanliness audits and implement improvements to boost member satisfaction.
- Ensure cleaning supplies and equipment are adequately stocked and maintained.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years experience in fitness equipment maintenance or facility cleaning.
- At least 2 years' experience managing vendors.
- Minimum 1 year experience in leadership or supervisory roles.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook.
- Technical knowledge of fitness equipment, HVAC systems, and basic electrical components.
- Own reliable transportation and willingness to travel across multiple locations.
- Possession of a valid Driver’s License.
- Successfully pass background checks.
- CPR certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Capable of lifting over 40 pounds and comfortable working in an active gym setting.
- Competent in using computers for documentation and communication.
