Financial Controller

Overview

The Financial Controller plays a pivotal role in managing the company's financial activities, ensuring precise financial reporting, adherence to regulatory requirements, and strategic financial planning. This role requires overseeing accounting processes, enforcing internal controls, conducting financial analyses, and aiding in high-level decision-making.

Primary Duties

• Manage daily accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Guarantee timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements.
• Supervise cash flow and assess financial health regularly.
• Compile various financial documents including management information system (MIS) reports and management dashboards.
• Ensure alignment with prevailing accounting principles and internal policies.
• Deliver insights and financial recommendations to senior leadership.
• Steer the financial forecast process and evaluate performance variances.
• Maintain compliance with statutory laws, taxation policies, and reporting standards.
• Design and uphold financial policies and internal control mechanisms.
• Facilitate audit processes for both internal and external auditors.
• Lead and mentor the finance and accounting teams, assigning tasks to optimize operational efficiency.
• Discover and execute improvements and automation within financial workflows and systems.

Qualifications

• Earned a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Commerce.
• Must hold a Chartered Accountant qualification.
• Possess 7 to 12 years of relevant experience in financial or accounting roles, including reporting, compliance, and audit oversight.
• Experience in managing teams or leadership roles is preferred.
