Position Overview
The Human Resources Coordinator at Provident Behavioral Health plays a crucial role in delivering both administrative and operational assistance for the full spectrum of human resources activities. Supporting a workforce of over 100 employees, the coordinator contributes significantly to the agency's mission to enhance access to quality behavioral health services for underserved populations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain comprehensive employee personnel files and HR records, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Handle processing of employee status changes, including onboarding documentation, separations, and organizational updates within the HRIS system.
- Assist in generating HR reports and workforce metrics on a routine monthly and quarterly basis.
- Address routine employee queries related to policies, benefits, procedures, and HR operations.
- Support both internal and external audits by compiling necessary documentation.
- Respond to employment verification requests and other HR-related inquiries promptly.
- Coordinate and contribute to various HR projects and departmental initiatives.
- Conduct regular reporting for Mary Ryder Home's union activities and maintain productive relationships with HR vendors, brokers, stakeholders, and union representatives.
- Administer payroll functions for Provident and Mary Ryder Home, including data collection, validation, report reconciliation, and resolution of discrepancies.
- Maintain payroll records ensuring regulatory compliance and data accuracy.
- Process wage changes, direct deposit modifications, tax withholding selections, and employment status updates.
- Answer employee payroll-related questions and manage authorized payroll deductions such as benefits, garnishments, and retirement contributions.
- Facilitate recruitment duties like job posting coordination, applicant tracking, interview scheduling, and hiring support.
- Oversee pre-employment requirements including background checks, drug screenings, and I-9 verifications.
- Prepare offer letters and onboarding materials; organize orientation sessions for new hires.
- Manage benefit enrollments, modifications, and terminations while assisting employees with benefit inquiries.
- Support administration of the company’s 401(k) program, including employee communications and enrollment assistance.
- Lead employee engagement initiatives by co-facilitating workplace culture and inclusion committee activities, planning company events, and fostering recognition programs.
Qualifications
- Minimum education requirement is a high school diploma or equivalent; an Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience are also acceptable.
- Between 1 and 3 years of experience in human resources functions such as recruiting, payroll processing, and benefits administration is required.
- Experience using HRIS systems, particularly those with payroll and applicant tracking functionalities (such as IPS, Anova, UKG), is essential.
- Certifications like SHRM-CP, aPHR, FPC, or CPP are advantageous but not mandatory.
Additional Information
- This role is full-time with an hourly wage range of $24.50 to $27.50.
- Work schedule is typically Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, totaling 40 hours per week.
- The position is primarily based at Provident’s St. Louis City office with the option to work remotely up to 40% of the time when no in-person meetings are needed.
- Reliable transportation is required to travel to various Provident and community locations as needed.
- Physical ability to lift up to 30 pounds and navigate multiple environments independently is necessary.
