Role Overview
This Human Resources Generalist position is based at our Cleveland, OH location and functions as a key partner to both employees and management. The role supports the development of a dynamic, inclusive, and high-performing workplace by collaborating closely with site leadership to implement critical people strategies aligned with business priorities. The position is comprehensive, encompassing employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, organizational effectiveness, compliance, and employee development.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with leadership to implement people strategies that attract and retain top talent while fostering employee engagement and development.
- Support initiatives like workforce and succession planning, organizational design, and manage change effectively within the organization.
- Advance a culture rooted in inclusion, teamwork, responsibility, and an ethos of continuous advancement.
- Analyze workforce data to uncover trends and recommend actionable improvements.
- Lead and contribute to business and human resources projects to meet strategic objectives.
- Manage recruitment processes end-to-end for salaried and hourly staff, ensuring alignment with staffing plans and business goals.
- Work alongside hiring managers and recruitment teams to shape hiring strategies, candidate evaluation, onboarding, and retention programs.
- Promote diversity recruitment and develop talent pipelines.
- Support and enhance the new hire experience through positive candidate engagement.
- Facilitate performance management activities, including talent reviews, succession planning, and development coaching.
- Mentor managers on establishing goals, nurturing talent, and improving performance outcomes.
- Enhance leadership capabilities and organizational effectiveness through targeted development programs and tools.
- Establish productive relationships to foster open communication and positive employee relations.
- Provide guidance on workplace policies, handle employee concerns, lead investigations, and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Coach leaders in conflict resolution, performance management, and employee relations best practices.
- Encourage initiatives improving employee engagement, retention, and organizational culture.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and corporate policies across federal, state, and local jurisdictions.
- Support regulatory activities including EEO, Affirmative Action, and OFCCP compliance and contribute to safety and wellbeing initiatives focused on employee health.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Communication, Industrial Psychology, or related discipline preferred; or approximately 4 years equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum two years of HR experience preferred in manufacturing, distribution, sales, or direct store delivery sectors.
- Familiarity with employment laws such as EEO, ADA, FMLA, and Workers' Compensation regulations.
- Experience facilitating employee relations, recruitment, compensation, benefits, and talent management processes.
- Strong analytical abilities coupled with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms like SAP or PeopleSoft is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple priorities with discretion and detail orientation.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% as required.
Compensation and Benefits
Estimated base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000 annually, with eligibility for a performance-based annual bonus. The overall compensation package includes a 401(k) plan with company matching contributions, health coverage, and a wide variety of other benefits supporting employee wellness and growth.
