Overview
NETIS Kenya seeks a Human Resources Manager based in Nairobi to serve as a strategic collaborator with operational teams while implementing the Group's HR strategy tailored to local contexts. This role is the primary HR liaison within the subsidiary, ensuring alignment with Group HR standards and compliance with Kenyan employment laws.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee payroll functions ensuring accurate, punctual processing of salaries, benefits, statutory deductions, and taxes adhering to Kenyan law.
- Manage personnel administration, maintaining current and precise employee records.
- Administer employee medical insurance and benefits, overseeing related invoice processes.
- Provide support to expatriate staff regarding HR and administrative processes.
- Collaborate with management to pinpoint workforce requirements and facilitate recruitment aligned with Group process guidelines.
- Lead recruitment efforts locally in conjunction with Group Talent Acquisition, ensuring compliance with established approval workflows.
- Manage effective onboarding and offboarding, guaranteeing complete documentation for all employees.
- Identify training needs, formulate the annual learning and development plan, implement and monitor training initiatives.
- Assist managers with talent management including succession planning, career development, and oversee the annual performance appraisal process.
- Offer guidance on Kenyan labor law, local regulations, and Group HR policies to management.
- Address employee relations issues encompassing disciplinary actions, grievances, and termination protocols.
- Manage relationships with employee representatives and labor authorities as necessary.
- Promote a positive work environment fostering constructive employee relations.
- Ensure strict adherence to Group HR policies, procedures, standards, and the Chief Human Resources Officer’s directives.
- Prepare timely monthly HR reports covering headcount, recruitment, turnover, training, absenteeism, performance, and other KPIs, providing analytical insights and improvement recommendations.
- Participate in internal HR audits to ensure compliance of documentation and processes.
- Lead and support the local HR team by setting priorities, monitoring objectives, and maintaining high service standards.
Candidate Profile
- Master’s degree in Human Resources, Employment Law, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- Minimum six years’ experience in a generalist HR capacity, with expertise in personnel administration, payroll, recruitment, and talent development.
- Thorough knowledge of Kenyan employment legislation and HR best practices.
- Proficient with HR information systems and Microsoft Office suite.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and prioritization capabilities.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Maintains confidentiality and adheres to high professional ethics.
- Capable of managing pressure and multiple competing priorities effectively.
- Demonstrates teamwork, autonomy, flexibility, and a strong customer-service orientation.
- Exemplifies integrity, dependability, and professionalism.
- Experience in an international corporate or multi-subsidiary environment is advantageous.
