About Ambitus
Ambitus is an applied AI product and research company collaborating with domain experts and enterprises to push the boundaries of AI capabilities.
Position Overview
Ambitus is searching for experienced illustrators, concept artists, storyboard artists, character designers, comic and sequential artists, and editorial illustrators able to produce finished digital artwork that meets specifications. The work is fully remote, project-based, and asynchronous, structured around your professional expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Create concept art, storyboards, character designs, editorial illustrations, or comic/sequential art according to project specifications.
- Deliver digital art that meets quality standards and project requirements.
- Manage your workload flexibly in a contract role that fits around your other commitments.
Preferred Software & Skills
Familiarity with software such as Photoshop, Procreate, Clip Studio Paint, Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape, Toon Boom Storyboard Pro, Krita, Adobe Fresco, or Corel Painter is favored. Experience with Blender or SketchUp for 3D underlay work is also beneficial.
Requirements
- At least three years of professional experience in relevant fields (freelance, agency, or in-house).
- Comprehensive hands-on expertise with industry-standard digital art software.
- The ability to clearly articulate your creative process and quality assessment criteria.

- This is a contract role that is fully remote and asynchronous to accommodate your schedule.
- Compensation ranges from $50 to $90 per hour, based on experience.
