IT Security Analyst

Overview

A healthcare organization in the Northeastern United States is seeking an IT Security Analyst for a 12-month contract role that is fully remote. This position requires participation in an on-call rotation every 13 weeks and is open to W2 contractors only.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a subject matter expert in internal security analysis protocols and processes.
• Continuously monitor and interpret data from multiple security systems such as SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and full packet captures.
• Evaluate security alerts and anomalies to determine their potential impact.
• Prepare detailed reports outlining significant security incidents and issues.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the current threat environment.
• Engage in root cause investigations for critical security events.
• Lead coordination efforts for mitigation and remediation of security gaps.
• Research emerging security threats, with a special focus on vulnerabilities affecting medical devices.
• Participate in periodic on-call support duties following a rotating schedule.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum education requirement: High School diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Proven work experience spanning 3 to 5 years in a related security role.
