About the Role

The City of Pearland seeks a committed full-time IT Support Specialist to join its proactive Information Technology team. This position demands a data-focused, results-driven individual who thrives in a dynamic, technology-centric environment, contributing to city operations through effective IT solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to technical support calls and manage the IT emergency hotline communications via calls and emails.
• Lead IT initiatives and projects supporting various City departments.
• Install, upgrade, and maintain software systems, ensuring reliable IT system management and administration.
• Collect and analyze data pertinent to IT projects aimed at enhancing user productivity; design and update workplace technology tools.
• Communicate IT insights and recommendations that facilitate actionable outcomes and potential acquisitions.
• Offer expert advice on leveraging technology to accomplish departmental tasks efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with IT-related policies and standard operating procedures.
• Deliver technical assistance across all City users and systems.

Qualifications and Experience

• Associate degree or equivalent specialized education/programs in information technology or a relevant discipline.
• A minimum of two years’ experience in IT support or a similarly focused role.
• Experience in audio-visual technologies preferred, with at least one year in the field.

Certifications and Licensing

• Valid Texas Driver's License.
• Certification in CompTIA A+.
• Certification in CompTIA Network+.
• Certification in CompTIA Security+.

The position offers a competitive hourly wage between $22.92 and $24.81 based on qualifications. The City covers full premiums for dental insurance, long-term disability, and life insurance as well as majority medical premium contributions for employees and their dependents.
