Maintenance Technician

Role Overview

As a Maintenance Technician, you will work under the supervision of the Senior Maintenance Technician to maintain approximately 65 pubs and hotels across Yorkshire. Your daily duties will include partnering with pub teams and managers to enhance their facilities and ensure safety for Greene King customers. This position involves varied tasks including building maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, decorating, and gardening.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform repairing and upkeep activities across the properties in line with business requirements and priorities, aiming to minimize disruption to operations.
• Conduct visual inspections during site visits and report any concerning issues to senior maintenance or regional surveyor personnel.
• Collaborate with the Building Maintenance team, Helpdesk, and Compliance units to monitor and close out assigned jobs efficiently.
• Ensure all sites comply with regulatory and safety standards, supporting the maintenance team's objectives.
• Proactively source and obtain necessary materials and spare parts from authorized suppliers to complete repairs.
• Operate within service level agreements (SLAs) and prioritize work accordingly.
• Occasionally travel overnight to assist with maintenance tasks in other regions or attend work-related conferences and training sessions.
• Must hold a valid UK driving license since a company van will be provided for transporting tools and materials.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• A strong passion for the hospitality industry and delivering excellent customer service.
• Multi-skilled experience encompassing carpentry, plumbing, basic electrical repairs, painting, decorating, plastering, concrete work, and minor repairs to fixtures and garden equipment.
• Sound understanding of health and safety requirements, compliance standards, and maintenance legislation.
• Effective communication skills to clearly present ideas and issues to pub teams.
• Ability to identify maintenance defects and determine appropriate troubleshooting or escalation steps.
• Possession of a full UK driving license is mandatory.
