About Minor Hotels and Job Location

This position is based at Banana Island Resort Doha By Anantara in Doha, Qatar. Minor Hotels is a global hotel owner, operator, and investor, managing over 530 properties across more than 50 countries. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on marine electrical systems aboard vessels.
  • Maintain generators, switchboards, batteries, shore power systems, navigation lights, control panels, and other marine electrical equipment.
  • Ensure effective execution of Preventive Planned Maintenance (PPM) for all electrical systems.
  • Inspect, test, and upkeep shore power supply pedestals for secure and reliable operation.
  • Prepare the Scope of Work (SOW) related to the electrical components of vessels before dry dock and for routine operations, meeting all operational standards.
  • Supervise and verify electrical tasks during dry dock, ensuring adherence to approved specifications.
  • Conduct final inspections and confirm completion of electrical work before vessel re-commissioning.
  • Manage timely procurement of electrical spare parts and materials.
  • Maintain detailed documentation, reports, and maintenance logs.
  • Respond promptly to marine electrical complaints, ensuring proper resolution and closure in the system.
  • Always use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Report any accidents, incidents, or unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Be available for marine electrical emergencies 24/7 and respond swiftly when needed.
  • Represent the Marine Engineering department during authority inspections, ensuring compliance and providing necessary technical documentation and support.
  • Work independently under guidance from the Marine Supervisor and Marine Maintenance Manager.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to supervisors and directors about work progress, issues, and operational status.

Candidate Profile and Competencies

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably including sea-going roles.
  • Familiarity with engine products and marine electrical market knowledge.
  • Ability to compose detailed reports.
  • Computer literacy is essential.
  • Proficiency in English; Arabic knowledge is a plus.
  • Possession of a valid Qatar driving license.
