Role Summary
We seek a Mechanical Design Engineer for a strictly on-site, full-time, 3-month contractual assignment located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The position involves working closely with hardware fabrication, combining advanced 3D CAD modeling with hands-on workshop manufacturing to transform concepts into tangible products.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed and accurate 3D CAD models, assemblies, and technical drawings suited for production.
- Plan and develop CAM toolpaths and operate machine tools such as lathes and CNC equipment to produce precision metal parts.
- Engage in rapid prototyping using FDM 3D printing and workshop tools to iterate quickly on physical designs.
- Conduct hands-on assembly and finishing activities on mechanical prototypes with various hand and power tools.
- Apply Design for Manufacturing principles by optimizing materials, tolerances, and designs to ensure cost-effective and efficient production.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Graduation in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or closely related fields is mandatory; students currently enrolled are not eligible.
- Strong expertise in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or CATIA, along with proficiency in CAM software.
- Demonstrated practical experience in operating workshop machinery and power tools in a fabrication environment.
- A proven portfolio showing real experience building physical mechanical systems, including projects like custom engines or complex mechanical rigs.
- Analytical mindset focusing on mechanical tolerances and structural strength, coupled with the ability to efficiently work in a fast-paced workshop setting.
Compensation and Additional Information
- The remuneration ranges between ₹15,000 and ₹18,000 per month.
- Company provides one month of free accommodation to facilitate relocation.
- Travel expenses for coming to Bhubaneswar will be reimbursed.
- This is a physically demanding role requiring immediate relocation and continuous onsite presence for the 3-month contract duration.
