Company Overview

Dolphin Oilfield Equipment Services, based in Mussafah, Abu Dhabi, is a key industrial services provider catering to ADNOC group companies, EGA, Borouge, and various other industrial sectors across the UAE including oil & gas and power. The company specializes in manufacturing, servicing, and retubing heat exchangers, executing Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) stage site works such as structural, piping, and equipment installation, while also managing onshore and offshore shutdowns and maintenance turnarounds.

Role Summary

We seek a Mechanical Project Engineer / Site Engineer to take full ownership of EPC-stage project delivery for ADNOC and industrial clients. This includes managing structural steel work, piping installation and tie-ins, pump and equipment installations, and civil foundation interfaces. The engineer will be accountable for projects from award handover to final acceptance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned EPC project scopes across UAE locations, including mobilisation, construction, inspection, and close-out phases.
  • Review contracts, scope documents, and various drawings (P&IDs, isometrics, GA, fabrication) to identify technical clarifications and close scope gaps pre-mobilisation.
  • Develop execution plans such as two-week look-ahead schedules, progress measurement using work breakdown structures, and progress reports that facilitate invoicing.
  • Supervise 1–2 site supervisors and their teams; coordinate subcontractors and workshop activities.
  • Prepare mobilisation readiness including tool/equipment packing lists, manpower deployment, and site inductions and passes.
  • Collaborate with QA/QC for inspection test plans (ITPs), hold points, NDT, and testing; manage client and third-party inspections and resolve non-conformance reports.
  • Serve as the client's daily technical contact onsite, managing queries, RFIs, and conducting progress meetings.
  • Monitor man-hours and materials relative to estimates, highlight deviations early, and document issues and lessons learned.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • 3 to 7 years of hands-on site execution experience in EPC, construction, or brownfield projects within UAE/GCC oil & gas, power, water, or heavy industries.
  • Proficient in interpreting P&IDs, isometrics, GA, and fabrication drawings.
  • Knowledgeable in welding processes, NDT methods, testing sequences, and inspection hold points (ITPs).
  • Experienced working under permit-to-work (PTW) systems on client sites.
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective client reporting.
  • Preferred qualifications include ADNOC Permit Requester/Permit Holder certification, current site passes, multi-disciplinary exposure (civil foundations, E&I, HVAC), commissioning support experience, familiarity with Primavera P6 or MS Project, understanding of ASME Sec VIII / TEMA standards, and a valid UAE driving licence.

What We Offer

  • Engagement with live projects within the ADNOC ecosystem offering genuine scope ownership and exposure to project management roles on sites lacking dedicated managers.
  • Clear career development pathway into senior engineering and project management positions aligned with the company’s EPC growth.
  • Competitive remuneration and benefits package in accordance with UAE labor laws, tailored to candidate experience.
  • Immediate joining opportunities.

Working Conditions

The role is site-based at locations including Abu Dhabi, Ruwais, and Habshan, with possible mobility requirements to Oman and Qatar. Typical workweeks include six days with potential day/night shift rotations during peak periods and extended hours near project milestones. This is a field engineering position, requiring active onsite presence rather than desk work.

Application Instructions

Candidates currently in the UAE with transferable visas and those able to join immediately will be prioritized. Applications can be submitted with an updated CV via the appropriate platform or sent to the company’s recruitment email with the subject line specifying "Mechanical Project Engineer – EPC".
