Role Overview
The position seeks a skilled and imaginative Motion Graphics Designer who will produce dynamic visual content including animations and multimedia storytelling elements. These creations support communication, outreach, and stakeholder engagement efforts by converting complex concepts into captivating and accessible motion graphics across digital, social media, video, and presentation formats. This role demands strong collaboration with creative, strategy, UX, and communications teams to produce content that drives audience engagement and mission impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-quality motion graphics, animations, kinetic typography, and visual explainers suited for digital platforms, social media, video, and presentations.
- Interpret strategic goals, audience insights, and intricate topics into compelling visual narratives and motion storytelling.
- Participate in concept ideation, storyboarding, and animation planning for communication campaigns and multimedia initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with designers, writers, strategists, UX professionals, and communication teams to deliver integrated creative outputs.
- Create and maintain reusable motion graphic assets like templates, animation libraries, and visual elements.
- Contribute to video production by adding animations, compositing effects, title sequences, transitions, and motion enhancements.
- Ensure all creative products align with brand guidelines, accessibility standards, and quality requirements.
- Engage in creative reviews and respond constructively to feedback from stakeholders and team members.
- Support producing social media content, digital campaigns, presentations, and multimedia communication materials.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects maintaining high creativity, accuracy, and execution standards.
- Remain abreast of emerging trends in motion graphics, animation techniques, AI-driven creative tools, and multimedia technologies.
- Work effectively with diverse, geographically distributed teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Drive ongoing improvements in creative workflows, processes, and best practices related to motion design.
Candidate Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen, required by government contract.
- Ability and willingness to obtain a U.S. Government Secret or Top Secret security clearance immediately upon hiring.
- Must pass a comprehensive federal background check encompassing finances, criminal record, employment history, and drug use.
- Proven experience in professional environments creating motion graphics, animation, multimedia content, or digital storytelling products.
- Preferred educational background includes a degree or equivalent experience in Motion Design, Animation, Digital Media, Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or related fields.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating capabilities in animation, motion design, visual storytelling, and multimedia production.
Compensation and Benefits
The offered salary range varies by geographic location (Washington, DC and New York) and depends on candidates’ experience, skills, and relevant factors.
