Cars 4 All Pty Ltd operates an automotive repair and service workshop located in Brooklyn, Victoria. They are experts in vehicle diagnostics, mechanical repairs, and routine servicing for a variety of vehicles.

Position Overview

We are currently inviting applications for two full-time Motor Mechanic positions at the Brooklyn workshop. The successful candidates will perform skillful diagnostic and repair services across multiple vehicle types, ensuring compliance with technical requirements, safety protocols, and customer expectations. Compensation ranges from $80,000 to $85,000 annually, plus superannuation benefits.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using advanced diagnostic tools and controlled testing procedures.
• Inspect vehicle performance systems including engines, transmissions, suspension, steering, and brakes.
• Execute routine servicing and maintenance activities such as oil changes, brake servicing, and fine-tuning system adjustments.
• Dismantle and repair engine and transmission components, followed by reassembly to manufacturer standards.
• Identify and replace faulty parts adhering strictly to manufacturer and repair guidelines.
• Validate repair work through thorough testing to guarantee operational safety and compliance.
• Utilize technical manuals, service sheets, and repair documentation for accurate diagnostics and repair processes.
• Document all services, repairs, and component usage to maintain compliance and workshop records.
• Recognize additional faults or maintenance needs and promptly relay this information to supervisors or clients.
• Adhere consistently to workplace safety protocols and automotive industry standards.
• Maintain the upkeep and safety of workshop tools, equipment, and general workspaces.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues to ensure effective workflow and job completion within deadlines.

Mandatory Qualifications and Experience

• Completion of Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or an equivalent qualification.
• Possession of Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis and/or Diploma of Automotive Technology considered advantageous.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a commercial workshop with motor mechanical duties.
• At least 2 years dedicated to diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in vehicle systems.
• Experience using OBD-II diagnostic tools, workshop equipment, and vehicle service information for no less than two years.
• Two years’ hands-on servicing, maintenance, and repair experience involving engines, transmissions, and brakes.
• Demonstrated experience of working with Asian and European car makes for at least 2 years.
• At least 2 years practical experience with AWD and 4WD vehicles.
• Minimum 2 years experience servicing Hybrid vehicles.
• Ability to interpret and apply technical manuals, specifications, and repair documents effectively.
• Strong analytical skills with an aptitude for diagnosing and resolving mechanical problems efficiently.
• Good knowledge of occupational safety procedures and compliance with automotive standards.
• Capacity to work independently while managing workloads and time efficiently in a workshop setting.
• Effective communication skills, capable of working well with team members and customers.
• Valid driver’s license required.
