Network and Security Engineer

Overview

We are looking for a proficient Network Security Engineer to design, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot the enterprise network security framework. The role requires hands-on experience with switches, routers, firewalls, and large-scale networking setups to secure optimal performance, availability, and safety of the network.

Contract Duration: 6 months with a possibility of extension.

Salary Range: AED 12,000 to AED 16,000 per month.

Key Duties

• Oversee installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of key network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Continuously monitor network health and swiftly address any performance problems.
• Manage connectivity across LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN infrastructures.
• Maintain stringent network security by configuring firewalls, managing access controls, and applying top security practices.
• Lead network upgrades, migrations, and other infrastructure enhancements.
• Work closely with IT teams to support business-critical applications and services.
• Document network architecture, maintain diagrams, and create standard operating procedures.
• Diagnose root causes of network disruptions and performance issues.
• Offer technical assistance and expert guidance to internal teams.
• Ensure network compliance with company policies and industry security standards.
• Deploy and manage Cisco Catalyst Center, Identity Services Engine (ISE), and Software-Defined Access (SDA) networks.
• Implement and support Network Access Control (NAC) solutions and network segmentation.
• Handle Cisco and Huawei routing and switching architectures.
• Manage firewall environments consisting of Cisco, Fortinet, and Palo Alto solutions.
• Support SolarWinds and Gigamon platforms for network monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Facilitate deployments of SD-WAN, secure remote access, and VPNs.
• Prepare high-level and low-level design documents, implementation plans, and operational manuals.
• Coordinate with equipment manufacturers, vendors, and client stakeholders.
• Lead implementation, migration, and user acceptance testing for network and cybersecurity projects.
• Support initiatives related to data governance, information protection, and secure data transfer.

Educational Background and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Between 5 to 8 years of practical experience in network security infrastructure projects.

Knowledge and Expertise

• Proven experience managing enterprise network environments.
• Strong grasp of network security principles and recommended best practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Technology and Tools

• Cisco and Huawei routing and switching systems.
• Cisco Catalyst Center and Identity Services Engine (ISE).
• Network Access Control (NAC) and Software Defined Access (SDA) technologies.
• SD-WAN using Cisco Viptela.
• Firewalls from Cisco, Fortinet, and Palo Alto.
• SolarWinds Network Management and Gigamon traffic aggregation platforms.
• Data center networking and enterprise infrastructure management.
• F5 Load balancers and site survey procedures.

Additional Cybersecurity Technologies (Advantageous)

• Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR).

• Data Classification and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions.

Preferred Certifications

• CCNP Enterprise or CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure certifications.
• CCNP Security.
• Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE).
• Fortinet NSE4 or equivalent security certifications.
