Operational Specialist

Position Overview

The Operational Specialist plays a crucial role in managing supply chain functions to ensure seamless and effective business operations. This position is focused on guaranteeing timely availability of materials, maintaining accurate inventory records, and fostering efficient collaboration among internal departments and external partners.

Key Duties

• Generate, process, and oversee purchase orders for raw materials, components, and service needs.
• Establish, assess, and sustain supplier relationships to secure quality products, cost savings, and punctual deliveries.
• Monitor inventory stock, predict demand, and coordinate with production planning to prevent shortages or excessive stock.
• Ensure adherence to corporate procurement policies and negotiate contract terms with vendors as needed.
• Manage inbound and outbound logistics, including scheduling of carriers, preparation of shipping documents, and delivery tracking.
• Work alongside freight forwarders and third-party logistics providers to minimize transportation costs and optimize delivery schedules.
• Comply with import/export laws and customs regulations.
• Document receipt of goods, maintain item records, and keep required documentation accurate.
• Perform monthly physical inventory counts, reconcile any discrepancies, and update inventory systems.
• Collaborate extensively with production, engineering, laboratory, and finance teams to synchronize procurement, logistics, and inventory management with organizational objectives.

Candidate Profile

• Holder of a Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or a closely related discipline.
• At least three years' experience in purchasing, procurement, logistics, or supply chain operations.
• Strong understanding of procurement workflows, shipping regulations, inventory control, and warehouse systems.
• Experienced in using ERP/MRP software and proficient with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Excellent skills in negotiation, communication, and organizational management.
• Capable of working autonomously while effectively handling multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
