Role Overview
As a Payroll Processor at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, your main responsibility will be to ensure the accuracy and completeness of payroll information, preparing it for processing. You will collaborate closely with Plant Managers, Human Resources, and Global Business Services (GBS) to review timekeeping records, resolve discrepancies, and assist with payroll administration. Your efforts will maintain payroll precision, support employee inquiries, and ensure adherence to payroll procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Meticulously review payroll data before submission to GBS to guarantee accuracy.
- Maintain payroll correctness by detecting and remedying issues in timekeeping, pay grouping, and compliance with FLSA regulations prior to payroll processing.
- Enhance employee experience by responding to payroll inquiries and directing concerns to relevant departments.
- Collaborate with Plant Managers and HR to manage timekeeping, leaves of absence, disability pay, and corrections in payroll.
- Check timecard reports alongside Plant Managers to confirm precise documentation of employee work hours.
- Handle adjustments related to paid time off, missed punches, short-term disability, leave of absence, and other payroll transactions.
- Verify inclusion of weekly and monthly incentive payments in payroll files sent to GBS.
- Examine processed payroll records to identify and fix pay group and FLSA compliance errors before payments are made.
- Work with HR to resolve payroll-related queries, retrieve payroll documents, and support issue resolution.
- Communicate necessary payroll adjustments and direct employee issues concerning payroll, benefits, and employee relations appropriately.
Qualifications and Skills
- Possession of a high school diploma is required; an associate degree is preferred.
- At least three years’ experience in managing timekeeping systems.
- Familiarity with HR policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
- Competence in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Capability to accurately handle a substantial volume of transactions, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication, organizational ability, independent problem solving, with a detail-focused and cooperative approach.
