Role Overview

Arcadis is seeking a Process Engineer for a 12-month contract based in Waterford, Ireland. This role is focused on supporting manufacturing operations by driving process enhancements, troubleshooting, and providing technical leadership to improve product quality, compliance, and operational effectiveness in a pharmaceutical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Offer technical guidance and leadership to manufacturing teams to optimize operations.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects aimed at increasing process efficiency and overall performance.
  • Conduct technical investigations including root cause analysis and problem resolution activities.
  • Identify and execute opportunities to optimize processes throughout manufacturing.
  • Assist with process validation, equipment qualification, and technology transfer procedures.
  • Track and assess key performance indicators to boost operational success.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on manufacturing workflows and support the introduction of new products.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with QA, QC, Validation, Regulatory, and Environmental Health & Safety departments.
  • Support deviation investigations, implement corrective actions (CAPAs), manage change controls, and ensure current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) compliance.

Candidate Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • At least two years of experience in pharmaceutical development or manufacturing settings.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement tools such as Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE), Single-Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Lean methodologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes; experience in aseptic production is beneficial.
  • Strong skills in technical report preparation, verbal and written communication, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities with a track record of effective project execution and multidisciplinary teamwork.
  • Candidates must possess full legal eligibility to work in Ireland as no visa sponsorship will be provided.
