About the Role

Danone Infant Nutrition Macroom, a key division of the global Danone Group, operates a strategic spray drying facility in Macroom, County Cork, specializing in the production of infant formula base powders. This site plays an essential role in supplying other plants in the network.

Key Responsibilities and Objectives

• Gain comprehensive understanding of the processes and technologies involved in transforming raw materials into infant milk formula powders at the Macroom facility.
• Develop expertise in the various systems used at Macroom for recipe management, such as SAP and MES.
• Be competent in setting up new production recipes in all relevant systems to ensure compliance with product specifications.
• Fulfill project leader requirements related to external analyses and sampling after trials.
• Drive process optimization and solve operational problems by applying thorough knowledge and standardized methods, including training team members in problem-solving techniques.
• Analyze rework and write-off causes and lead initiatives for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate closely with multiple departments both locally and globally, including Operations, Supply Chain, Operations Performance, and Central Research & Innovation.
• Maintain a hands-on approach to tasks and demonstrate flexibility in availability as operational needs arise.

Professional Experience and Qualifications

• Possess a third-level degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline.
• Have a minimum of two years experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Exhibit well-developed managerial and analytical skills with a strong aptitude for decisive problem-solving.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially skilled in Excel calculations.
• Display logical thinking and an ability to promptly resolve issues with confidence.
• Demonstrate strong teamwork skills, promoting cooperation and respect within the immediate and broader team.
• Be proactive in leading change initiatives and pursuing process improvements.
• Commit to maintaining high standards of quality and hygiene.
• Fluent in English communication.
