About the Role
As part of the Hazel McCallion LRT project team in Mississauga, Ontario, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of one of Canada's premier infrastructure ventures. Reporting directly to the Deputy Alliance Director, the Procurement Manager will oversee the entire purchasing process critical to project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all procurement stages from pre-bid planning to project closeout.
- Lead contract negotiations and policy formulation with vendors, subcontractors, and service providers, ensuring alignment with company risk and competitiveness criteria.
- Monitor procurement buy-out execution and guide purchasing and estimating personnel activities.
- Act as a liaison between Procurement and Engineering/Construction teams.
- Evaluate and qualify vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, and professional service partners.
- Prepare purchase requisitions and orders, maintain accurate records of goods ordered and delivered.
- Support the development and enforcement of procurement policies and procedures, delivering training to ensure compliance.
- Analyze market conditions and delivery systems to forecast material availability and resolve vendor or contractor disputes.
- Administer online procurement systems and oversee procurement analytics, financial planning, and reporting.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Accounting; MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of procurement or purchasing experience within the construction sector.
- Expertise in Supply Chain Management processes specific to construction environments.
- SCMP designation (Supply Chain Management Professional) and completion of Grade 12 education at minimum.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with database tools; SAP knowledge considered a plus.
- Understanding of materials and equipment used in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects.
- Desirable additional qualifications include Business Administration Diploma, degrees in Accounting, Business Planning, Operations, Business/Contract Law, Commerce, or Management theories.
- Comprehensive knowledge of contract and purchasing terms, conditions, and compensation structures.

The expected salary range for this role is between 180000 CAD and 210000 CAD annually, depending on project assignment.
