Role Summary

The Quality Technician for OGS's Machining Division will play a vital role in upholding the company's high-quality product standards within an aerospace production and inspection environment. Candidates should be experienced in machining quality assurance, capable of working independently, and excel at detail-oriented tasks in a dynamic setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Review contracts to verify adherence to customer and industry standards.
• Assist in inspection processes, layout tasks, and data collection to meet production quality needs.
• Act as a subject matter expert on customer documentation, notably with experience related to Meggitt and GE.
• Prepare and audit documentation like PPAP and FAI and maintain active inspection certifications.
• Perform capability studies including CPK calculations and manage relevant data logs.
• Apply strong GD&T knowledge in daily functions.
• Use various mechanical inspection devices such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, optical comparators, and hardness testing tools.
• Create bubble drawings and Inspection Plan Documents (IPD) as necessary.
• Process and forward nonconformance reports to customers promptly.
• Collaborate with customers to resolve quality issues effectively.
• Work with suppliers to drive quality compliance and process enhancement.
• Generate and validate in-process inspection reports and assist with in-process drawings to maintain product integrity.
• Implement Statistical Process Control to monitor manufacturing processes and quality standards.
• Analyze manufacturing methods and suggest improvements to prevent defects.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Quality Technician within machining and aerospace inspection fields.
• Deep understanding of GD&T principles and their practical application.
• Proficiency with standard inspection instruments and measurement methodologies.
• Knowledge of aerospace-specific materials, special processing, and manufacturing techniques.
• Experience handling customer-specific documentation and quality protocols.
• Adept at data analysis, capability studies, and precise result documentation.
• Skilled at engaging customers during complex problem-solving processes.
• Competence in Microsoft Office, statistical analysis software, and quality management tools.

Work Schedule and Conditions

This full-time position follows shop hours totaling 40-50 weekly hours, Monday through Thursday from 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM, and Fridays from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
