Position Overview
Weill Cornell Medicine is seeking a Research Assistant to support clinical research projects within the Fei Wang Lab located in Midtown, New York. This role involves research assistance, data analysis, and operational duties under the guidance of principal investigators and coordinators.
Work Schedule and Salary
The role requires a commitment of 21 hours per week and is categorized as non-exempt. The salary ranges from $24.29 to $27.09 per hour in compliance with NYC Human Rights Law Int 1208-2018.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit and enroll study participants, verify eligibility for clinical trials, and ensure all consent procedures follow protocols.
- Support department mailings including handling patient medical records, ensuring accurate recipient and location details for delivery.
- Perform literature reviews and develop expertise on study protocols to serve as reference templates.
- Assist in creating and maintaining study databases, entering and managing collected data diligently.
- Conduct qualitative coding and thematic analysis of research data, and potentially perform statistical data analysis.
- Help prepare materials for Institutional Review Board (IRB) or IACUC submissions and renewals.
- Assist faculty in grant application processes and documentation preparation such as progress reports, abstracts, routing forms, and manuscripts.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum educational requirement is a High School Diploma; however, a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Approximately one year of related experience is desirable.
- Proficiency with statistical and database management tools, specifically SPSS and/or RedCap, is essential.
- Previous experience in clinical research and familiarity with medical terminology will be advantageous.
