Resource Manager

Overview

We are actively looking for a Resource Manager to lead the planning, allocation, and management of resources across diverse technology consulting projects. This role demands balancing business needs, consultant availability, and project priorities to enhance resource utilization and ensure project success.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee capacity planning, demand forecasting, and workforce availability by aligning resources with project pipelines, sales projections, and business priorities.
• Coordinate resource allocation by aligning consultants' technical skills, certifications, industry knowledge, and availability to meet project demands.
• Track consultant utilization, differentiate between billable and non-billable activities, manage bench resources, and staff projects to optimize operational efficiency and profitability.
• Address scheduling conflicts, resource over-allocation, and other constraints through collaboration with project managers, delivery leads, and business units.
• Conduct resource analytics, generate capacity reports, perform gap analysis, and formulate workforce plans including recommendations for hiring, training, or contractor engagement to meet future needs.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Information Technology, Engineering, Project Management, or related fields.
• At least 4 to 6 years of experience in resource management, workforce planning, PMO, project coordination, operations, or delivery management in technology or consulting sectors.
• Preferred experience includes supporting IT consulting, professional services, systems integration, digital transformation, or government projects.

Essential Skills

• Expertise in resource planning, capacity management, demand forecasting, resource allocation, utilization monitoring, and workforce scheduling across multiple projects.
• Proven skill in managing consultant utilization, balancing billable versus non-billable work, bench management, resource forecasting, and project staffing aligned with business objectives and financial goals.
• Strong analytical abilities, excellent stakeholder communication, and problem-solving skills, alongside proficiency in resource planning tools, Microsoft Excel, and project management software.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with IT consulting companies, managed services, system integrators, or government technology projects.
• Familiarity with PSA, ERP, or resource management platforms such as Microsoft Project, Jira, ServiceNow, SAP, Oracle, Workday, Kantata (Mavenlink), Float, or similar tools.
• Understanding of financial concepts related to project budgeting, utilization KPIs, gross margin, revenue forecasting, and contract types (Time & Materials and Fixed Price engagements).
