Role Overview
As a Safety Coordinator within the construction sector, you will be responsible for ensuring rigorous adherence to workplace safety standards under the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act alongside internal company guidelines. Your duties encompass routine site inspections, hazard identification, and comprehensive safety monitoring for workers and subcontractors to uphold Risk Assessments, Safe Work Procedures, and Permit to Work processes.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct daily safety checks on construction sites to detect and address any hazards.
- Supervise construction personnel and subcontractors to guarantee compliance with established safety protocols including Risk Assessments, Safe Work Procedures, and Permit to Work policies.
- Lead safety orientations for new personnel, facilitate toolbox talks, and deliver ongoing safety briefings.
- Maintain meticulous Workplace Safety and Health documentation, including reports and records essential for compliance.
- Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-miss occurrences, ensuring timely corrective measures are implemented.
- Assist in safety audits and advocate for continuous enhancements in safety practices.
- Fulfill additional safety-related assignments as delegated by the Project Manager.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of the WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health along with a valid refresher certification.
- Certification as a Work at Heights (WAH) Assessor and in Risk Management.
- At least three years of hands-on experience in construction-related safety roles.
- Thorough understanding of Singapore's Workplace Safety and Health regulations and standards.
- Capability to operate both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Holding a Class 3 Driving License is considered beneficial.
