Position Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Scrum Master to join a software development team focused on a cutting-edge autonomous/autopilot software project. The role demands collaboration with Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Program Management to ensure seamless Agile operations, release coordination, project tracking, and delivery of complex software solutions.
Key Duties
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Manage sprint execution ensuring software releases are delivered on schedule.
- Collaborate with Software IPT Leads, Program Managers, Software Architects, and Systems Engineers to prioritize and plan work.
- Oversee Jira management, including epics, stories, tasks, defect tracking, and workflow configuration.
- Assist with release planning, roadmap tracking, and sprint forecasting.
- Monitor project status, risks, dependencies, blockers, and milestones carefully.
- Administer software defect backlog and facilitate resolution across multiple teams.
- Maintain rigorous DO-178 requirements traceability through every stage from requirements to testing.
- Prepare project metrics, dashboards, and high-level status updates for executives.
- Champion continuous refinement and improvement of Agile delivery methodologies.
- Ensure the software development team stays aligned with program goals and timelines.
Required Experience and Skills
- Minimum five years of experience as a Scrum Master within professional software development environments.
- Comprehensive understanding of Agile and Scrum frameworks.
- Proficient in advanced Jira usage and administration.
- Holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Practical knowledge of DO-178 software development standards, certification requirements, traceability processes, and testing strategies.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams including software architects, systems engineers, developers, and QA specialists.
- Effective communication, facilitation, project oversight, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Location Details
The primary location preference is Simi Valley, CA, but remote candidates will also be considered.
