Overview
Kairos Technologies is seeking a seasoned Senior Mainframe Developer based in Hyderabad. This role involves hands-on participation in designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing critical enterprise applications on mainframe platforms. Candidates must be adept at working with key mainframe technologies including COBOL, DB2, JCL, CICS, IMSDB, and tools to provide reliable and continuous 24/7/365 production support for high-availability systems.
Core Responsibilities
- Create, test, and deploy both new and existing mainframe applications that support business needs.
- Deliver uninterrupted production support by diagnosing and resolving system problems to maintain system uptime and stability.
- Develop and maintain necessary interfaces, reporting tools, and utilities integral to business functions.
- Support system integration and user acceptance testing to ensure functionality and quality.
- Optimize and debug existing code to enhance overall system performance, efficiency, and reliability.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including business analysts, testers, and infrastructure personnel to resolve issues and implement system upgrades.
Technical Environment
- Languages & Tools: COBOL, JCL, Changeman, FileManager, IBM Debug Tool, dBeaver, IWS Job Scheduler, MQMON, TSO/ISPF
- Databases: DB2, IMSDB
- Transaction Management: CICS
- File Systems: VSAM
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 6 years of substantial, hands-on experience with COBOL, DB2, JCL, IMSDB, CICS, and VSAM.
- Proven track record supporting mission-critical systems with 24/7/365 production availability.
- Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to collaborate effectively across different departments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with enterprise job schedulers such as IWS and CA7.
- Familiarity with mainframe debugging and file management tools.
- Knowledge of Agile or DevOps frameworks and methodologies.

- Capability to work independently with minimal oversight and also thrive in team settings.
- A proactive mindset focused on continuous process and performance improvement.

Additional Information
- This is a full-time position requiring work from the office, five days a week in Hyderabad.
- A mandatory in-person Level 1 interview will be conducted.
