About the Role

CareCone Group is seeking an experienced Shopify Developer based in Melbourne to contribute to e-commerce projects on a contract basis. The position focuses on developing and optimizing Shopify and Shopify Plus platforms to support retail business operations.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements

• Minimum of two years of practical experience developing on Shopify or Shopify Plus environments.
• Strong skills in Liquid template language, HTML5, CSS3/SASS, and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• Experience working with Shopify's Admin API, Storefront API, and Webhooks is required.
• Knowledge of headless commerce frameworks like Hydrogen or Next.js is advantageous.
• Understanding of retail e-commerce processes such as product catalog management, inventory synchronization, promotional campaigns, and order handling.
• Proven experience integrating third-party applications, including ERP and POS systems such as NetSuite, Shopify POS, and Klaviyo.
• Expertise in creating responsive designs supporting cross-browser compatibility.
• Familiarity with Git version control systems and agile project workflows.
• Strong analytical skills for debugging and resolving development issues.

Preferred qualifications include Shopify Partner or Plus certifications, experience with React or Node.js frameworks, background in retail or consumer goods industries, and knowledge of checkout customizations including Shopify Functions and Checkout UI Extensions. Additional beneficial skills are understanding SEO principles, Core Web Vitals, and experience with A/B testing and CRO methodologies.
