Position Summary

We are seeking a software engineer to join our development team. This role involves working across our platform layers—from backend services to front-end interfaces—to build systems that emphasize reliability, scalability, and high performance. This role suits candidates with solid technical fundamentals, a cooperative approach, and a passion for continuous learning. You will engage in production system development, participate in architectural decisions, and partner with a team focused on pragmatic, quality engineering.

Responsibilities

• Create and deliver features end-to-end, starting from conceptualization through deployment.
• Engage across the full technology stack as needed, including backend services, APIs, frontend interfaces, and infrastructure support.
• Develop and uphold comprehensive testing methods including unit, integration testing, and creation of test tools such as mocks and simulation environments.
• Collaborate closely with fellow engineers to analyze problems, establish requirements, and refine solutions.
• Enhance development tools, workflows, and overall engineering methodologies.
• Troubleshoot and fix issues at various levels of the system, including handling problems in production environments when necessary.
• Continuously build expertise in media and networking domains to inform effective engineering decisions.
• Assume full responsibility for features ensuring their completion and quality.

Technology Stack

• Backend technologies: Java (Spring Boot), Python, with some components implemented in C and C++.
• Frontend technologies: TypeScript and Angular framework.
• Databases: PostgreSQL and TimescaleDB.
• Operating system: Linux (Ubuntu).
• Project and version control tools: JIRA and Bitbucket.

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of professional experience delivering software products.
• Strong foundation in computer science and software engineering principles.
• Capability to transform unclear problems into robust, maintainable software solutions.
• Flexibility and experience working across backend, frontend, testing, and infrastructure components.
• Proficiency in writing clean, maintainable, and testable code.
• Good command over relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging abilities.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills within a team environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in API design and backend development best practices.
• Knowledge of microservices or distributed system architectures.
• Expertise in building highly available and optimized performance applications.
• Proficiency in automated testing and test-driven development.
• Understanding of networking concepts, which is advantageous within our domain.
