Team Overview
The Developer & End-user Experience Platform (DEeP) team builds the foundational product platform connecting Stripe's services to users. This includes large-scale merchant dashboards and mobile applications, enterprise-level identity and access management, robust APIs, innovative developer tooling, and advanced AI-driven features. Role Responsibilities
- Collaborate across functional teams and with fellow engineers on projects.
- Provide constructive feedback during code reviews and contribute to system design discussions.
- Maintain and ensure scalability and reliability of the systems your team manages.
- Develop expertise to independently lead projects end-to-end, enhancing both technical and project management skills.
Candidate Requirements
The role is open to applicants able to commence full-time employment before October 1, 2026.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or a closely related field completed by summer 2026, or equivalent practical experience.
- New graduates should have less than 18 months of professional experience, excluding internships.
- Demonstrated programming knowledge through coursework or side projects; familiar with Java, Ruby, JavaScript, Scala, or Go. The ability to learn new programming languages is expected.
- Exposure to collaborative coding environments from internships or team projects in academic or professional contexts.
- Aptitude for independently researching and understanding unfamiliar systems with guidance from mentors.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Specialized expertise in areas such as frontend technologies and a general grasp of service request handling (e.g., HTTP processes).
- Experience with code review standards and safely updating live production systems.
- Comfort navigating and managing large codebases.
Work Environment Expectations
Employees assigned to offices are expected to spend at least half their working time monthly in person at the local office or engaging directly with users. Certain roles or teams may have full in-office attendance or higher requirements, which will be communicated by managers. Compensation and Benefits
The salary for this position based in Toronto ranges from CA$106,400 to CA$159,600 annually. This range may adjust by location and corresponds to multiple career levels, refined through assessment of candidate qualifications, experience, and job market factors.
