Job Overview

This role is based in Hanover, Lower Saxony, Germany, following a hybrid work schedule of three days onsite and two days remote. CGM is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to oversee several software development teams tasked with creating scalable SaaS healthcare products. The position entails engineering leadership, cloud architecture oversight, AI adoption facilitation, Agile transformation, and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and mentorship to multiple software development teams, cultivating an atmosphere of innovation, cooperation, accountability, and continuous progress.
• Coach other engineering managers and technical leaders to promote professional development and cross-team knowledge exchange.
• Develop and implement strategies for software development, emphasizing modern SaaS architectures, cloud-native solutions, and distributed scalable systems to enhance product flexibility and reduce time-to-market.
• Lead the establishment of AI-native engineering practices, encouraging the use of Claude Code, AI Agents, Skills, Workflows, Pipelines, Harnesses, and Context Engineering to boost AI-driven engineering productivity.
• Ensure adherence to software quality, cloud security best practices, and compliance with healthcare industry regulations, managing secure and dependable software delivery processes.
• Work collaboratively with Product Management and other business stakeholders to align engineering activities with business goals and keep executive leadership informed about project status, risks, and technological innovations.

Qualifications and Experience

• A university degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Medical Informatics, or a related technical field.
• Extensive experience in managing software engineering teams and delivering SaaS-based cloud software solutions.
• Preferably, prior exposure to the healthcare sector.

Technical Expertise

• Profound knowledge of SaaS architecture, cloud computing, distributed systems, and scalable platform design.
• Competence in quality automation, software security, engineering best practices, and cloud security measures.
• Experience driving AI adoption through tools and concepts such as Claude Code, AI Agents, Skills, Workflows, Pipelines, Harnesses, and Context Engineering.
• Expertise in Agile methodologies including Scrum, Kanban, Lean management, and multi-team Agile scaling, accompanied by proven engineering leadership and team mentoring capabilities.

Language and Soft Skills

• Excellent proficiency in English and strong skills in German.
• Exceptional leadership qualities, communication skills, problem-solving aptitude, a high degree of innovation, proactive decision-making, strategic vision, an entrepreneurial mindset, and passion for healthcare technology.
