About the Role
The Startup Program and Experience Lead will be responsible for overseeing the startup customer journey throughout the onboarding and trial phases. This position focuses on helping startups adopt Notion effectively, increasing engagement, and ensuring early value realization. Working closely with the Head of Startups, the lead will manage program execution, lifecycle engagement, and operational processes to enhance activation, conversion, retention, and overall growth in the startup segment.
This role requires close collaboration with teams across Marketing, Product, Customer Success, and Partnerships to develop scalable onboarding and engagement programs that foster sustained business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance startup customer activation, engagement, conversion, and retention metrics across the regional startup funnel.
- Design and operate scalable onboarding and lifecycle initiatives tailored to startup customers.
- Develop educational and engagement experiences that help startup users realize value quickly.
- Identify and address friction points within the startup customer journey to improve user experience.
- Support regional startup initiatives, campaigns, events, and ecosystem programs.
- Analyze program and operational performance to drive improvements in conversion rates and annual recurring revenue (ARR).
- Contribute to building Startups 2.0 operational frameworks, including automating scorecards for identifying top startups and delivering high-touch customer service.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience in program management, customer experience, customer success, growth, operations, or roles focused on startups.
- Strong organizational and project management capabilities.
- Proficiency managing multiple projects and priorities within dynamic environments.
- Deep customer empathy combined with a strong operational mindset.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally across Product, Marketing, Partnerships, and Customer Success teams.
- Data-driven approach with the ability to detect patterns, identify obstacles, and propose enhancements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Curiosity and willingness to adopt AI tools to improve efficiency and outcomes, without requiring deep AI expertise.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working within startup ecosystems.
- Familiarity with onboarding, lifecycle management, or customer engagement programs.
- Background in product-led growth environments.
- Experience in designing scalable operational processes or customer programs.
- Interest in AI, productivity tools, and future of work trends.

Work Conditions
In-person teamwork is important to Notion’s culture. Employees are expected to work on-site at the San Francisco office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays (Anchor Days). Some roles may require additional days in office.

Notion offers competitive compensation including salary, equity, and benefits based on role complexity, location, and candidate experience. Estimated base salary for this San Francisco position ranges from $140,000 to $205,000 per year.
