About the Role

The YouTube Strategy, Analytics and Finance group strives to enhance YouTube’s value by identifying key opportunities and guiding strategic business decisions. The Strategy team partners closely with top-tier product management executives, developing platform-wide strategies by addressing major shifts like generative AI and short-form video, growth through shopping and subscriptions, and the sustainable management of the creator ecosystem.

In the role of Strategy Associate, you will advance important initiatives with guidance from senior leadership. You will tackle ambiguous challenges by conducting in-depth research, developing models, and analyzing data to create insightful, executive-focused recommendations. This generalist position involves collaborating across YouTube’s diverse products and business functions, influencing company strategy, and driving successful product launches alongside teams from Engineering, Business, Partnerships, Marketing, and Sales.

Key Responsibilities

• Decompose complex problems using structured frameworks and actionable plans.
• Conduct quantitative assessments including advanced financial modeling and SQL data queries alongside qualitative trend analyses.
• Create and deliver clear, persuasive reports and presentations customized for audiences at multiple management levels and business areas.
• Build and maintain cross-functional relationships to align goals and achieve common objectives.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning, ownership, and collaboration within the team.

Basic Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in business, quantitative fields (such as Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or Physics), or equivalent practical experience.
• At least three years of experience in management consulting or equivalent strategic business roles.
• Proven analytical capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Skilled in influencing and communicating with diverse audiences including executive leaders.
• Experience with financial modeling, SQL programming, and data visualization tools.
• Background in technology or media sectors.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and presentation abilities.
• Demonstrated impactful decision-making in large-scale strategic initiatives.

Additional Information

Applicants may select their preferred work location from San Bruno, CA, or New York, NY. Individual compensation is based on skill level, experience, and education. The estimated salary range in the U.S. is $118,000 to $169,000 annually, plus a target bonus of 15%, equity options, and benefits.
