Tailor

Role Overview

A Tailor at Hilton is responsible for modifying staff uniforms and repairing guest apparel to ensure an exceptional experience for guests and team members. This role also involves coordination with laundry suppliers and managing the uniform deposit system effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect uniforms for cleanliness and condition, performing minor repairs as needed.
• Alter uniforms to fit staff members properly.
• Support laundry operations including washing, folding, and storing linens correctly.
• Repair guest items as requested to maintain service excellence.
• Provide valet services to guests.
• Coordinate with laundry suppliers and dry cleaners regarding uniform cleaning.
• Assist new employees with uniform distribution and ensure appropriate documentation is completed.
• Maintain control of outgoing uniforms for new and existing personnel.
• Manage the uniform deposit system in collaboration with the Finance department.
• Conduct uniform stock audits as requested and ensure par stock levels are maintained.
• Handle and properly dispose of soiled or damaged linen.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the linen room and uniform storage areas.
• Report any maintenance or safety hazards encountered.
• Comply with all hotel security, fire safety, and health and safety regulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Positive disposition and strong communication abilities.
• Capability to perform efficiently under pressure.
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively within teams.
• Proficient in sewing and operating sewing machines.
• Organized, methodical, and detail-oriented in task execution.

Preferred Experience

• Previous work experience as a tailor is advantageous.
