Role overview
Sanmina is an electronics design and manufacturing company, and this position is part of its Viking Enterprise Solutions division. Viking focuses on developing and building high-performance enterprise servers for hyperscale and AI customers.
The Senior Software Test Engineer will contribute to the team responsible for creating manufacturing test software and automating test processes for servers and network infrastructure products. The work is centered on coding in Python and Bash, along with hands-on server hardware troubleshooting.
Key responsibilities
The role involves developing and maintaining manufacturing test code, supporting automation for hardware validation, and working closely with server and network infrastructure platforms. A major part of the job is diagnosing issues in server hardware and supporting test environment activities.
Required qualifications
- Experience with Linux-based scripting using one or more of these languages: Python, Shell, Bash, PHP, or JavaScript.
- Strong background in hardware debugging, with preference for candidates who have worked on server hardware troubleshooting.
- Senior-level profile, generally with 7 or more years of experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
- Prior exposure to software test environments.
Preferred background
- Systems-level testing or PCBA testing experience is a major advantage.
- Experience with manufacturing test workflows and/or server hardware products is beneficial.
- Working knowledge of server hardware components such as CPUs and motherboards.
- Experience in the server or storage industry.
- Familiarity with Jira.
- Understanding of BIOS.
- Understanding of BMC.
