Role Overview

The Trainee Merchandiser position is an entry-level role ideal for a motivated individual seeking to join a dynamic team in a fast-paced retail environment. This position supports the Merchandising team by handling stock intake, liaising between brands and warehouses, conducting detailed analysis, and proposing actionable recommendations. Attention to detail and innovative thinking in merchandising and buying processes are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage stock intake for assigned categories, coordinating with brands such as Nike, Adidas, and Under Armour through the call-off process.
• Monitor and track deliveries from brands to the central warehouse, addressing any missed deliveries promptly.
• Engage daily with the warehouse team to resolve allocation and delivery queries, ensuring smooth operations.
• Maintain weekly communication documents between the Brand Centre and warehouse to track delivery conformity.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure product information accuracy, including barcodes, pricing, labeling, and margins, communicating updates to buyers.
• Analyze sales data and size ratios to optimize future purchasing decisions.
• Perform general administrative tasks to support merchandising activities.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of one year experience in a fashion or sports retail omni-channel environment.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., D365) and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Business Objects).
• Strong numerical, data analysis, and organizational capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills with an ability to build solid relationships across various brand contacts.
• Creative problem-solving aptitude to overcome challenges efficiently.
• Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally to achieve results.
• Commercially aware with understanding of business impact from decision-making.
• Meticulous attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to meet strict deadlines under pressure.
