Role overview

Linfox is seeking an experienced Transport Allocator to join its Maddington operation. This position starts at 6:00am and runs Monday to Friday. You will sit at the heart of the day-to-day operation, managing driver allocation, load optimisation, customer communication, and the smooth movement of freight.

The role suits someone who is comfortable making decisions, coordinating resources, maintaining strong client relationships, and influencing transport performance throughout the day.

Key responsibilities

• Assign drivers, vehicles, and freight to achieve the best possible fleet use and payload results.
• Coordinate daily transport movements and scheduling across the operation.
• Track service delivery performance and act quickly when disruptions affect operations.
• Maintain positive customer relationships and deliver a high standard of service.
• Work with drivers to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations.
• Arrange driver training needs and keep competency records up to date.
• Prepare accurate operational reports and contribute to weekly reporting.
• Plan leave and manage workforce availability in line with operational needs.
• Look for ways to improve productivity, service levels, and operational efficiency.
• Support safety programs, toolbox talks, and compliance obligations across the business.
• Assist the Transport Manager with people, safety, and operational tasks when needed.

Requirements

• Prior experience in transport allocation, scheduling, dispatch, or logistics coordination.
• Strong capability in customer service and stakeholder management.
• Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and demands when working under pressure.
• Confident communication style when dealing with drivers and operational teams.
• Well-developed planning, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive approach to identifying and resolving operational issues.
• Good computer skills and the ability to quickly learn operational systems.
• Strong commitment to safety, compliance, and ongoing improvement.
• Exposure to transport compliance, fatigue management, or freight operations will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of Australian transport regulations, fatigue management, and general freight operations will also be highly regarded.
