Workshop Technician

About the Role

Bath College invites applications for a Workshop Technician position within the Building Services sector, responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the Construction centre workshops. The role supports lecturers by preparing materials, technical support, and ensuring all equipment and tools are safe and operational. This is a full-time, permanent role based in Radstock, with 37 hours per week across all 52 weeks annually.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the construction and building services workshop areas.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and tidiness within workshops, including floors, by following weekly cleaning schedules.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are clean, safe, well-maintained, and readily available.
• Support smooth departmental operations by assisting technical needs of lecturers.

Requirements

• Educational qualification at Level 2 or equivalent.
• Familiarity with health and safety processes applicable to workshop environments.
• Knowledge of operating and maintaining machines and hand tools used in construction and building services.

Employment Details

• Permanent contract with annual salary ranging between £26,840 and £27,725.
• Working hours: 37 hours per week, all year round.
