Role overview
This position supports the housekeeping operation by tracking room status, coordinating daily cleaning priorities, and helping ensure guest rooms are prepared on time. The role also serves as a communication point between Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry to keep room-related tasks moving smoothly.
Key duties
- Prepare room availability reports, check room conditions, identify any differences in status, and keep records updated for departing guests.
- Help the Housekeeping department manage daily operational activities.
- Act as a liaison between Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Desk, and Laundry teams.
- Record and resolve room-status discrepancies with the Front Desk.
- Prepare and circulate assignment sheets or work boards for housekeeping staff.
- Track, verify, and update the “Do Not Disturb” room list.
- Make sure vacant dirty rooms are cleaned on time and assign priority to urgent rooms and rooms previously marked “Do Not Disturb.”
- Complete required housekeeping paperwork and related documentation.
Standards and compliance
- Follow all company and safety policies and procedures.
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries promptly.
- Complete required safety training and certifications.
- Maintain a neat, professional uniform and appearance.
- Protect proprietary information and safeguard company assets.
Guest service and teamwork
- Welcome guests in line with company standards and respond to their needs with genuine appreciation.
- Help create a service experience that meets quality expectations.
- Build positive working relationships and support team goals.
- Listen to and respond appropriately to employee concerns.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
- Prepare and review written materials carefully and completely.
Work requirements
- Use computers to enter and retrieve job-related information.
- Be able to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
- Handle, lift, carry, push, pull, and place items weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance.
- Perform other reasonable job duties requested by supervisors.
