Job Overview
The HR Assistant role involves providing vital administrative support to the Human Resources department. Key responsibilities include managing employee records, facilitating onboarding and offboarding processes, supporting benefits and payroll documentation, managing employee communications, and general HR coordination. This position requires confidentiality, keen attention to detail, strong organizational skills, proficiency in technology, and a service-oriented mindset.
Core Responsibilities
- Deliver general administrative support such as preparing paperwork, maintaining employee files, and answering routine HR inquiries.
- Accurately maintain and secure employee records adhering to company policies and confidentiality standards.
- Help with onboarding new employees and offboarding departing staff, including preparing new hire materials, paperwork coordination, training assignments, and ensuring all necessary forms are completed properly.
- Assist with benefits, payroll, and timekeeping tasks by collecting required documentation, responding to employee questions, and following up as needed.
- Organize employee engagement activities, meetings, trainings, and HR-related events to foster a collaborative work environment.
- Utilize HR information systems, Microsoft Office tools, spreadsheets, and electronic filing for data entry, reporting, and facilitating efficient HR operations.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive documents with professionalism.
- Complete other HR-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or relevant coursework in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related fields preferred.
- Minimum two years of experience in human resources roles required.
- Exceptional discretion and professionalism when handling confidential employee information.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Effective communicator with proficient written and verbal skills.
- Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, along with the ability to quickly learn HR systems, electronic filing, and reporting tools.
- Technologically adept in managing data, task tracking, and supporting HR workflows efficiently.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively with staff and management.
