Job Overview
The Engineer will supervise and plan maintenance activities across a broad range of instrumentation and control systems within the plant, ensuring their efficient and reliable operation through coordination with operational and maintenance teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist operations and maintenance teams with equipment testing, diagnosis, routine monitoring, and startup procedures, coordinating closely with Mechanical and Electrical departments to ensure smooth integration and adherence to maintenance schedules.
- Provide in-field technical assistance for critical maintenance tasks, aiming to resolve issues promptly with minimal downtime.
- Plan and allocate manpower resources for daily preventive, corrective, and shutdown maintenance activities.
- Assess workload, backlog, and schedules, collaborating with relevant units to fulfill work plans and manage resources effectively.
- Oversee inventory and availability of materials, spares, consumables, and tools necessary for maintenance operations.
- Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and unscheduled shutdowns, recommending corrective actions to enhance reliability and uptime.
- Contribute insights for planning major maintenance, upgrades, and addressing obsolescence challenges, aligned with the division’s five-year business plan.
- Support technical development, implementation, and commissioning of new projects by reviewing mechanical designs and specifications to optimize costs and ensure compliance with standards.
- Participate in setting technical requirements, evaluating bids, and inspecting materials to ensure quality; monitor contractor work quality for assigned projects.
Supervision and Leadership
- Organize, supervise, and coordinate all activities within the assigned area to meet objectives.
- Mentor and develop staff competencies to meet section goals effectively.
Budget and Compliance
- Assist in budget preparation and implementation, monitoring variances to support cost control and performance.
- Execute department policies, procedures, and standards aligned with company and international legislation and regulations.
Performance and Improvement
- Support department goals in accordance with company performance standards.
- Develop and apply innovative tools to optimize operational efficiency, benchmarking processes against best practices and ISO standards to find smart solutions.
Health, Safety, and Environment
- Adhere to all relevant HSE policies, procedures, and sustainability guidelines consistent with international standards and ADNOC’s code of conduct.
Reporting and Communication
- Prepare management information system inputs and progress reports for company leadership.
- Maintain effective internal communications with supervisors, peers, and company employees.
- Liaise externally with consultants, service providers, and regulatory bodies as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation and Control, Electronics, or an equivalent professional qualification.
- A minimum of six years of experience in instrumentation and control engineering and maintenance, preferably within a large industrial setting such as the Oil and Gas sector.
- Relevant professional certifications, where applicable.
Work Conditions
- Physical effort is minimal.
- Work primarily in air-conditioned environments, with occasional exposure to heat, humidity, and dust during site visits.
