Overview

The Logistics & Transport Manager will be responsible for overseeing and streamlining logistics and transport across three key locations, managing supplier delivery channels and ensuring efficient movement of goods to stock and production sites as well as customer deliveries throughout the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, and mainland UK. The role focuses on reducing logistics costs, improving delivery times, managing third-party fleets, and upholding safety, compliance, and service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily transport operations at three stock locations, optimizing delivery scheduling and routing to maximize fleet usage and fuel efficiency while reducing load costs.

  • Maintain standardized procedures and consistent performance across all logistics and transport activities by ensuring adherence to SOPs.

  • Manage inbound deliveries of raw materials to maintain adequate stock levels at the production facility.
  • Support tightly scheduled project deliveries, particularly in the construction sector.
  • Address and resolve delivery-related inquiries promptly to prevent service delays, collaborating with sales teams to uphold excellent customer service.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with transport providers, negotiating contracts and monitoring performance to enhance logistics operations.

  • Established success in achieving tangible cost reductions and operational improvements in logistics.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and logistics software such as TMS and WMS.
  • Comprehensive understanding of transport regulations, health and safety compliance, and legal requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills enabling effective interaction across all organizational levels and with external stakeholders, emphasizing high service quality.
  • Strong analytical abilities and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Experience in managing third-party logistics providers and transport contracts.
  • Familiarity with warehouse operations, inventory control, and production planning is advantageous.
