Role Overview
As a Dispenser in one of our retail pharmacy locations, you will play a vital role in supporting pharmacists and healthcare professionals to deliver pharmacy and health services safely and efficiently. Your interactions with patients include prescription dispensing, advising on medicine use, and assisting customers in making well-informed health decisions.
Key Duties
- Safely dispense prescriptions including ordering, labeling, endorsing, and managing collection procedures.
- Collaborate with pharmacy colleagues to support service management and delivery.
- Provide guidance and advice on medication to patients and escalate questions to pharmacists when needed.
- Follow established Standard Operating Procedures to ensure legal and safe dispensing practices.
- Stay current on innovations and operational processes within the store environment.
- Assist patients in managing their prescriptions effectively, promoting adherence, and minimizing waste.
- Engage with new dispensing technologies to improve patient safety and efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
- Completion of Pharmacy Advisor NVQ2 qualification or equivalent, or ongoing study with successful completion of first year of MPharm degree.
- Valid UK right to work status; this position is not open to skilled worker visa sponsorship.
- Previous experience in community pharmacy is beneficial but not mandatory.
