Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement the growth strategy for Australia in alignment with Strategic Business Unit and corporate goals.
- Analyze market opportunities, competitor landscape, and growth factors.
- Set up a strong local presence and enhance the company’s position in the market.
- Forge and uphold relationships with healthcare providers, distributors, industry associations, and key stakeholders.
- Achieve annual targets related to sales, market share, and profitability.
- Broaden the direct hospital business and champion engagement in tender processes.
- Create and drive strategic account management plans for vital customers.
- Scout and appraise new business prospects, alliances, and licensing ventures.
- Develop a sustainable product portfolio comprising in-licensed and developed products.
- Oversee launches involving complex generics, specialty drugs, immediate launches, and differentiated products.
- Collaborate with regulatory teams to guarantee prompt product registrations and approvals.
- Manage the country’s profit and loss responsibility.
- Prepare comprehensive budgets, forecasts, and operational plans annually.
- Track financial performance metrics including revenue, margins, and operational costs to ensure profitable growth.
- Ensure compliance with all pertinent Australian regulatory, legal, pharmacovigilance, and corporate governance obligations.
- Supervise local product registrations, market authorizations, and quality assurance processes.
- Serve as the official local company representative when mandated.
- Recruit, lead, and nurture a results-driven local team.
- Promote a culture centered on accountability, teamwork, and customer orientation.
- Maintain operational excellence and guarantee continuous business functions across Australian operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Business, or closely related disciplines; MBA is desirable.
- 12 to 15+ years of professional experience within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, specifically with deep involvement in the Australian market.
- Demonstrated success in country management, business development, leading sales teams, and P&L ownership.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Australian healthcare system, hospital operations, tender mechanisms, and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience in portfolio management, product launches, and expanding market presence.
- Excellent skills in leadership, stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and effective communication.
