Ground Segment Engineer

About the Role

The Exploration Company is building Nyx, a modular and reusable orbital vehicle designed for space missions, with the long-term potential to be refuelled in orbit and to transport cargo and, eventually, people. The company is hiring a skilled and experienced Ground Segment Engineer to support future programs, especially within the Lunar Lander team. In this position, you will report to the project’s Principal Engineer and work side by side with other engineering functions.

What You Will Do

• Take ownership of the project’s ground segment from a technical and delivery standpoint.
• Shape the overall ground segment architecture.
• Build and improve hardware and software tools for the ground segment.
• Strengthen system reliability through both automated and hands-on testing.
• Create and maintain documentation for the tools and systems used.
• Source and procure the necessary hardware and supporting equipment for the ground segment.
• Check and confirm that ground segment performance meets expectations.
• Work closely with test and operations teams to understand their needs and translate them into solutions.
• Help define test procedures.
• Assist with test execution and operations activities.

What We Are Looking For

• At least 3 years of experience developing ground segments for aerospace programs.
• Hands-on experience with building and testing software applications used directly by users.
• Ability to program in at least one object-oriented language such as C#, Java, or an equivalent language.
• Working knowledge of aerospace telecommunications standards.
• Understanding of backup mechanisms, storage handling, and recovery processes.
• Experience integrating hardware and working with RF systems.
• Strong ability to diagnose issues across hardware, operating systems, networks, and application layers.
• Fluency in English; Arabic knowledge is considered an advantage.
