Role Overview

The Power Conversion Systems (PCS) Engineer leads design, development, integration, validation, and optimization of PCS utilized in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), renewable energy setups, and grid-connected power networks. This position emphasizes efficient, safe power transformation between AC and DC, ensuring operational reliability and adherence to grid standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design comprehensive PCS architectures including inverters, converters, transformers, and related power electronics components.
  • Conduct system sizing, electrical computations, and select appropriate components.
  • Develop and assess single-line diagrams (SLD), schematics, and detailed technical specs.
  • Perform simulations using tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PSCAD, ETAP, and PLECS.
  • Assist in the formulation of control algorithms for grid synchronization, power quality maintenance, and energy management.
  • Collaborate with Battery Management System (BMS), Energy Management System (EMS), SCADA, and electrical engineering teams to integrate systems.
  • Handle Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, and troubleshooting processes.
  • Ensure compliance with grid codes and standards including IEC, IEEE, and UL.
  • Analyze overall system performance, diagnose faults, and implement corrective measures.
  • Support vendor selection, engage in technical discussions, and validate product qualifications.
