Role Summary
The Senior Engineer - Managed Protect will be responsible for overseeing the configuration, operation, and troubleshooting of firewall and network security devices across multiple client environments.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and execute firewall and network security device changes and incident resolutions as requested by clients, adhering to company protocols.
- Troubleshoot and resolve security-related incidents and device issues, providing Root Cause Analyses in line with the established Incident Management framework.
- Deploy and configure network security solutions tailored to client specifications.
- Effectively manage both internal and client escalations to ensure timely issue resolution.
- Generate and review daily, weekly, and monthly reports based on client demands.
- Participate in the network lifecycle management including upgrades, hardware refreshes, and updates to network architecture.
- Operate within a 24x7 environment fulfilling assigned responsibilities reliably.
- Manage data center and client network security operations involving next-generation firewalls including Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Fortinet, Cisco ASA, and Juniper devices.
- Implement and administer technologies such as IPS/IDS/UTM, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Endpoint Protection, Load Balancers, Cloud Access Security Brokers (CASB), and cloud network infrastructure with troubleshooting support.
- Create, review, and plan documentation, including Requests for Change (RFCs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Utilize and troubleshoot availability monitoring tools like Nagios, PRTG, SolarWinds, or Algosec.
- Coordinate communication with clients, internal teams, and vendors for change implementations and product support, managing escalations effectively to minimize downtime.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in network security management.
- Hold a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or MCA or an equivalent university degree.
- Preferably certified in one or more of the following: CheckPoint, Palo Alto, Cisco (ASA, Routing and Switching, Security), Fortinet, or Juniper.
