Cabin Avionics Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cabin Avionics Engineer to join a dedicated Technical Services Team at Mascot. This permanent position involves maintaining airworthiness and engineering standards for the cabin avionics systems across the Qantas Group's fleet. Collaborate closely with a specialized team to enhance safety, reliability, and operational efficiency of aircraft cabin interiors, including compliance management and design assessment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support continuous airworthiness of the Qantas Group fleet by applying expert knowledge in cabin avionics.
• Work alongside engineers to uphold strict safety and reliability standards.
• Manage aircraft maintenance programs and coordinate reliability projects for avionics systems related to cabin interiors.
• Assess and approve cabin-related modifications to maintain outstanding safety records and optimize operational performance and costs.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess a professional engineering degree in Avionics, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or an equivalent field.
• Demonstrated extensive experience designing and developing aircraft cabin interiors, specifically for Boeing or Airbus fleets.
• Familiarity with a diverse range of cabin products and equipment vendors.
• Strong knowledge of CASA regulations, particularly CASR Part 21 and Part 42; familiarity with EASA and FAA regulations is advantageous.
• Proven capability managing small to medium design projects aligned with stakeholder objectives.
• Ability to prioritize multiple competing deadlines with keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for conveying complex technical information clearly and effectively.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving excellence.
• Experience managing customer expectations in accordance with service level agreements.
• In-depth understanding of procedures for continuing airworthiness for Qantas and customer aircraft.
• Knowledge of Qantas and customer maintenance operations.
• Commitment to a customer-centric approach while being adaptable and willing to engage across various business initiatives and cross-functional teams.
