Overview
This FBI Special Agent position is open exclusively for candidates with a STEM background, particularly in engineering. Moving beyond a conventional engineering role, you will engage in a dynamic law enforcement career focused on national security, cybersecurity, and public safety. You will apply and expand your technical skills in real investigations addressing cyberattacks, terrorism, fraud, and other critical threats to our country.
Role and Responsibilities
- Lead investigations into suspected violations of federal laws, especially cybersecurity and public safety matters.
- Utilize sound judgement, adaptability, and resourcefulness to fulfill demanding investigative assignments.
- Establish and nurture effective cooperative relationships with federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and international law enforcement agencies.
- Maintain physical fitness adequate for the performance of law enforcement duties.
Qualifications and Key Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance.
- Willingness to travel as the job requires.
- Compliance with FBI employment eligibility criteria.
Education
Applicants must possess at least a bachelor's degree, preferably in engineering or a related discipline, from an accredited U.S. institution. Submission of official transcripts is required for degree verification.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is $93,749 to $133,200 annually, with specific pay determined by base salary, geographic locality, and availability payments.
