About the Company
Our client is a private equity investment firm headquartered in Germany, operating throughout Central Europe. The firm focuses on partnering with growth-oriented companies at the nexus of technology and long-term structural trends. Its investment focus includes software and technology-driven services, healthcare, and industrial technology sectors. Managing several hundred million euros across diverse investment vehicles, it usually deploys tens of millions of euros per deal. The team remains actively engaged following investments, providing strategic and operational guidance to foster sustainable growth.
Role Overview
As a Private Equity Associate, you will:
- Assist in originating and evaluating new investment opportunities within software, tech-enabled services, healthcare, and industrial technology sectors.
- Develop and maintain complex financial models such as leveraged buyout (LBO), integrated three-statement models, and sensitivity/scenario analyses to assess investment hypotheses and valuations.
- Lead and review financial and commercial due diligence efforts.
- Prepare detailed investment memoranda and presentations for the investment committee, encompassing market sizing, competitive analysis, and value creation strategies.
- Perform market and competitive landscape research to pinpoint promising verticals and opportunities for consolidation through buy-and-build approaches.
- Support portfolio company management with strategic initiatives, operational improvements, and growth planning post-investment.
- Monitor portfolio company performance by tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), comparing budgets to actual results, and preparing board reports.
Candidate Profile
- Possess 2 to 4 years of relevant experience, ideally from consulting, Big4 transaction services or financial due diligence, investment banking, or private equity.
- Demonstrated active involvement in deal execution, including internships or full-time positions at banks or funds, is a strong advantage.
- Exhibit a strong commercial acumen and analytical capabilities.
- Proficient in financial modeling.
- Have a solid academic background from a reputable university.
- Be fluent in both English and German languages.
